I've been crocheting since I was nine years old. Over the years I've developed a passion for colorful pallets, intuitive making and whimsical designs. since 2017 I have been developing a world of creatures I call "birbs".

I began dyeing yarn and fabric (as well as my hair) during my undergraduate studies at Temple University's Tyler School of Art & Architecture (BFA '24). During these years I was an avid single skein MX dyer in my free time. In 2025 I decided to return to dye-work (this time branching out into acid dyes) & I fell in love with it all over again. Thus Colorfully made Yarns by Kalila aka CMYK was born.

I was fortunate enough to be gifted a vintage spinning wheel in spring 2025. Long story short, it has lead me deeper and deeper down the fibers rabbit hole in the months since. I now enjoy dyeing roving, blending fibers & spinning yarn.
